At the conclusion of each degree, we ask that a Brother demonstrates proficiency in the preceding degree before he may progress to the next. This practice hearkens back to the days of old, during the time of active and operative Lodges, which were very much involved in the building arts. Accordingly, proficiency, in a manner of speaking, takes the place of the Operative practice that once consisted of 7 years in an apprenticeship. Continue reading

In the beginning of the journey of every Freemason, each has an individual answer for the inevitable question, “What has drawn you to Masonry”? For a great many, it is the allure of a possible mystique, the ancient rites of our Order that perhaps prompted them to ask for and ultimately gain admittance into the Lodge room. My name is Jon Patrick Sage. I have had my hand in many other sites on the web, though this is the first one “of my own”.

This site will showcase, support, and help to grow my business as an Author, Consultant in Motivational Speaking and Coaching, Web Design, and Advertising & Marketing Action.

My post-secondary studies at Indiana Wesleyan University have culminated in a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Minoring in Business management. I am currently enrolled in Graduate Studies at the Department of History, Indiana State University.

I am happily married, and live in Southern, IN with my Wife, Children, and Granddaughter. I am a good citizen of my community, and am involved with charitable work at various institutions. I enjoy writing, reading, and traveling, …. and writing!
